When traveling the scenic roads, wild life sightings are an everyday accordance, the docile mother deer guiding a fawn on it's new legs, a flock of turkeys out dining in a corn field, such breathtaking moments occur seemingly everyday. I'm not sure that you ever get use to having a front seat to the show that mother nature puts on.

Local farms provide luscious foods at many local farmers markets during the warmer months. Be prepared to relax, in the winter months when the pace lulus to a relaxed stroll, while many might opt for one of the plethora outdoor sports the area has to offer others choose to take in a hot cup of there favorite beverage and put their feet up to the nearest fireplace to drink in the silence. One of the most spectacular sights this area has to offer is the night sky, imagine lying out on your lawn looking up at the stars in the sky, many of our streets do not have street lights (thank goodness) as the night sky is often the best show you will take-in,  in a life time, surely most enjoyable when shared with loved ones. A sunset or the sunrise over a mountain top, lake, pond or a stream is never far away when you reconnect with all nature has to offer in Western Sullivan County.

If that nightlife is a bit to tame the Boston pops or New York Philharmonic may be in town at Bethel woods, still not sounding like your cup of tea how about country star Brad Paisley, country classics like Merle Hagger or New comers like Taylor Swift or Kelly Pickler, suiting any taste even Motown greats, Earth Wind and Fire have been found at the amazing new venue of Bethel Wood Center for the Arts.

There is wonderful dining as well as local band concerts, there are so many little things going on you really can not make them all but you can have fun trying.
 
Many publications have referee  to this area as the new Hampton well…maybe as it is an escape from the a hectic world yet, The hectic night life , and attitudes that seem to be associated with the Hampton is not something that is common place here. The average housing price can surely not compare with that of the Hampton and the night life seems to be replaces with small dinner parties, BBQ and intimate gallery openings.  Weekends of chamber music, local festivals, trout parades and tractor parades.
